PORTLAND, Maine – WEX (NYSE: NYSE:), a global commerce platform, has launched a new mobile application, 10-4 by WEX, aimed at providing independent truckers and small trucking companies in the United States with access to fuel discounts typically available only to larger enterprises. The app, which is now generally available, is designed to expand WEX’s diesel product offerings within its Mobility segment to include sole proprietors and other independent businesses.

The 10-4 by WEX app allows users to save on fuel without the need for credit applications or checks. Truckers can link their existing debit or credit card to the app to start receiving discounts immediately at participating locations. According to WEX’s Chief Digital Officer, Karen Stroup, this initiative is part of the company’s commitment to supporting independent truckers by helping them reduce their largest operational cost – fuel.

Timothy Hampton, SVP and General Manager of Over-the-Road (OTR) at WEX, highlighted the significance of these savings, noting that independent truckers can spend an average of $50,000 on diesel annually, which constitutes nearly a third of their total expenses.

The 10-4 by WEX app is available for download at no cost from the Google (NASDAQ:) Play Store and the App Store. Users can benefit from instant savings at a growing network of U.S.-based truck stops, including AMBEST, Road Ranger, Sapp Bros., Love’s Travel Stops, and the 7FLEET Diesel Network, with more merchants and discounts expected to be added in the future.

This app joins WEX’s suite of products tailored to the trucking industry, which includes fleet cards and factoring services designed to improve efficiency and cost management. The company’s analytics tools and mobile apps offer truckers, regardless of their operation’s size, volume discounts and enhanced transparency into purchasing and performance.

The launch of 10-4 by WEX is part of WEX’s broader strategy to simplify the business operations of its customers worldwide. The company has not made any forward-looking statements regarding the anticipated strategic, operational, and financial benefits of the app.
